Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin

The Migizi Cultural Resource Center of the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians will catalog its photograph collection and complete editing 100 reel-to-reel audio tapes and three 8-mm films given to the tribe by the estate of the late Tony Wise, so that both collections may be made accessible to the community. Mr. Wise was an entrepreneur who developed the World Lumberjack Championships and the Birkebeiner Cross Country Ski Race in the Hayward area. Student interns hired through the tribe’s College Work-Based Learning program will be trained and will work to complete the project activities.
