Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation

The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Reservation's Tamástslikt Cultural Institute will use funds to inventory 6,000 American Indian stone tools under their care, as well as send staff to preventative conservation and collections management training.  During the second phase of the project, they will develop and produce a traveling exhibition entitled Caring for the Past, which will reflect upon the state of America's collections, the role the Tamástslikt Cultural Institute plays in raising awareness about this issue, and how they help preserve history and culture through active collections management and conservation activities.
