The Ziibiwing Center of Anishinabe Culture and Lifeways, a cultural learning center of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan has welcomed over 42,000 visitors since it first opened in May 2004.  One of the ongoing efforts supported by the center has been the preservation and dissemination of the tribe's Ojibwe dialect to community members.  This project will continue to support the goal of the language recovery process.  Based upon a language needs assessment it undertook in 2005, the tribe will record the last remaining fluent speakers of their dialect to preserve the language for future generations.  Additionally, four multi-generational immersion workshops will be developed and implemented.
