Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians

Log Number: MN-01-10-0029-10

The Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians of California will begin a project to conduct research on a repository of material collected in the 1970s. The newly researched material, along with other known data, will be made available to the public via two interactive kiosks housed in the newly rebuilt Pomo Center. The Pomo Center sits on tribal ancestral lands at the entrance to Lake Sonoma, which was created by a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dam. The kiosks will highlight information about the geography and history of the land and feature audio, video, and still images of twenty individuals whose traditional homelands were in the Dry Creek watershed. This project will support the positive working relationship between the tribe and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and will serve to educate tribal members—especially younger members—about their homelands.
