Citizen Potawatomi Nation

The Citizen Potawatomi Nation will use grant funding to complete Phase II of a two-year project involving historical research, preproduction planning, and script writing for a documentary to be produced depicting the historical events surrounding the relocation of Citizen Potawatomi ancestral families from the Great Lakes Region to Oklahoma in the mid-1800s. This phase of the project will include preparing for the ten-days of filming re-enactments in various locations, editing, and production of a final documentary on DVD.  The project will fill a gap in existing historical collections and supplement other evidence relating to the relocation of the tribe.
