Log Number: MN-01-06-0023-06

The Ponca Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma will finish construction of a new museum in September of 2006.  To prepare for the grand opening, funds will be used to purchase exhibit cases, which will display memorabilia of Clyde Warrior, a deceased tribal member and Indian activist.  A consultant will be hired to design, arrange, and write text for the exhibit.  To coincide with the new museum, a broad range of programming activities will also be implemented using IMLS funds.  They include classes for: shawl making, shinny stick making, drum and flute making, regalia manufacturing, ribbon work, and bead work, as well as language classes for men and women, and youths and adults.
