Northfork Rancheria Mono Indians

The Northfork Rancheria of Mono Indians of California will implement a series of activities to improve collections care and exhibitions at the Sierra Mono Museum. Project activities will include a series of workshops designed to train museum staff and community members in museum practices and methods; rehousing collections and implementing environmental improvements in collections storage and exhibit areas; cataloging and inventorying collections to improve intellectual control; interpretive planning, and the design, development, fabrication, and installation of new interpretive exhibits on Mono Indian culture and history. A project consultant will work closely with museum staff and the project will build on recommendations from participation in both the Museum Assessment and Conservation Assessment programs.
