Bishop Indian Tribal Council

The Bishop Paiute Tribe will improve the care and management of its Veterans Tribal Archive and Exhibit in the Owens Valley Paiute-Shoshone Cultural Center. Cultural center staff will acquire supplies needed to support the cataloging and appropriate housing of the documents in the archives. The center will also upgrade the veteran's exhibit with signage, visual banners, updated exhibit lighting, mounts, and framing. The cultural center will offer new educational programs, including four veteran forums and six community outreach activities involving local veterans and their families. The project will enable the cultural center staff to properly, thoroughly, and factually share the history and stories of local tribal service men and women who are or have served in one of the five branches of the United States military.
