Bishop Indian Tribal Council

The Bishop Paiute Tribe will use grant funds to improve the interpretive content of Owens Valley Paiute Shoshone Cultural Center exhibitions as well as train staff members on proper object handling and storage practices. The interpretation of the center's Veteran's Hall will be updated and a new exhibit on how tribal ancestors honored the environment will be developed. A companion booklet providing further information on cultural center exhibitions will be written, designed, printed, and distributed for visitor use. Cultural Advisory Committee members, staff, and docents will attend training on proper artifact handling techniques and storage practices to further protect tribal objects for future generations.
