Barona Band of Mission Indians
Log Number: MN-00-05-0045-05
The Barona Band of Mission Indians will produce an exhibit to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of its reservation. The director and assistant curator of the Barona Cultural Center and Museum will conduct interviews with tribal elders to provide an oral history component for the exhibition, as well as utilize some of the 3,000 objects and 1,000 photographs currently in the collection of the Barona Cultural Center and Museum. A smaller traveling version of this exhibit will also be developed so that it may installed at institutions throughout the San Diego area, such as libraries, civic centers, and other museums. The exhibit will enable tribal members to collaborate with one another and contribute their histories to a program that enhances the mission of the Barona Cultural Center and Museum.
