Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians

This grant will enable the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, located on the northwestern portion of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, to partially fund a museum/cultural center director position. Additionally, this funding will allow the director to receive training as a museum technician and archivist, as well as begin efforts to document collections, locate significant tribal items that have been lost over time, and prepare guidelines and standards for use in repatriation efforts.
