Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation
Log Number: MN-00-05-0031-05
This project will involve transferring 400 ethnographic objects and 5,000 lithics, photographs, and documents to the Tamastslikt Cultural Institute. Currently, these artifacts are part of the Vert Collection, which is under the ownership of the City of Pendleton, Oregon. The collection represents the material culture of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Reservation, which consist of the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla tribes. The transfer will move the objects from a facility with less than optimal environmental conditions to one with controlled climate systems. Upon arrival at the Tamastslikt Cultural Institute, the artifacts will be processed for storage or exhibition.
