Makah Indian Tribe

The Makah Indian Tribe has owned and operated the Makah Cultural and Resource Center for more than 25 years. An increase in the number of visitors is anticipated due to the emergence of a successful ecotourism industry on the reservation. This project will develop a long-range visitor plan that will address this increase in museum attendance. The Makah Indian Tribe will review the past 10 years of visitor surveys and museum store sales to determine strengths and unmet needs. A review panel will then make recommendations to the Board of Trustees and Tribal Council concerning potential changes to the Makah Cultural and Resource center's exhibition and educational programs. These recommendations will also include resource allocation initiatives and training programs for the museum's staff.
