Pokagon Band of Potawatomi
Log Number: MN-00-05-0029-05
The project plan calls for the implementation of four main objectives: assessment, training, planning, and completing a pilot program. The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians will assess its cultural center's needs for programs and improved collection and storage space. Following on-site visits to other regional tribal museums, the band will learn technical aspects of document and artifact storage and display. It will also develop a long-range management plan that will include recommendations for the cultural center's eventual growth and expansion. Finally, the band will use the training from the on-site visits, along with the newly developed collections plan, to conduct a pilot program in which it will acquire and store a variety of artifacts to evaluate whether its program is feasible.
