The Kanza Museum of the Kaw Nation will be hosting an exhibit of loaned objects entitled Everyday Life of the Kanza: Utility and Art. The material will be provided by the National Museum of the American Indian, the children's Museum of Indianapolis, and the Kansas State Historical Society. To supplement this project, the Kaw Nation will design a virtual museum Web site and publish printed materials for distribution throughout the community. The museum will host two workshops, directed by a contracted conservator, for any tribal members interested in preserving their personal collections. The first workshop will focus on photographs and paper documents, while the second one will target beadwork, textiles, and leather items.
