Oneida Nation
Log Number: MN-00-05-0005-05
The Oneida Nation Museum, operated by the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, is dedicated to preserving, protecting, maintaining, and interpreting Oneida traditions, artifacts, language, customs, and history. This grant will enable the museum to continue its efforts to comply with recommendations identified through a previous Conservation Assessment Program grant. The museum will formulate and implement short- and long-range preservation goals and objectives to ensure that its collections are preserved for future generations. This grant will promote museum services by creating a lab for light collections care work; the rehousing of pamphlets, manuscripts, and clothing; the rerolling of textiles, and the creation of storage supports for baskets. The museum will also create and implement a disaster preparedness plan and train employees on these procedures.
