Purpose: Reaching Families and Children The art world is one for all to explore and experience through sight and sound. The Toledo Museum of Art will use its grant funding to combine hand-held audio technology with art education. Families and children will be able to more fully explore the museum's permanent collection. Museum staff will produce two sets of permanent collection audio tours, to be introduced over a two-year period. Both tours will convey and reinforce making art. This is the concept of linking art with the creative process, which is the focus of the museum's vision and guiding principles. Museum staff will work with AntennaAudio, a leader in the field of interpretive media, along with an art educator from the University of Toledo and an independent evaluator to develop and analyze the tours. This project will help the museum reach nontraditional and traditional families in new, stimulating ways.
