Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum

Purpose: Expanding Educational Services The Hands-On Museum will establish a Science and Technology Lab Program, with facilities for multi-level interactive science and technology educational activities for virtual and on-site visitors. A new information system educator will be hired to adapt current lab programs and activities for use in the lab and to work with education and exhibit staff to develop new content. The grant will also enable the museum to equip the lab and other museum spaces with computers, technology equipment, and instructional equipment; launch expanded on-site and online programs; launch trial virtual and teleconferenced versions of on-site programs via Internet2; and evaluate the Science and Technology Lab Program. After the grant period, the museum will make the new position permanent and continue to develop interactive virtual and distant learning experiences.
