DeGraaf Nature Center

Purpose: Expanding Educational Services The DeGraaf Nature Center will increase its teaching capacity through the increased use of the farmhouse, barns, trails, natural features, flora and fauna of the Van Raalte Farm. The expended educational programs will include historical and natural history programs such as Early Holland Life, Michigan Settlers, Maple Sugaring, river and wetland studies, habitat studies, and winter ecology. These programs will be made available to thousands of school children and the public. The site provides an abundance of nature in an urban setting, allowing for creative hands-on activities.
