Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art

Purpose: Expanding Educational Services This grant will enable the Brandywine River Museum to develop and introduce audio tours specifically for children ages seven to 12. This much-anticipated program will feature narration for 30 specially-selected works of art--by male and female artists representing different genres and media--presented in an engaging storytelling format with music and sound effects. Children will use hand-held listening wands with random access digital technology to access the descriptive tour of the works of art. The tours will be available for rental during regular museum hours to accommodate young walk-in visitors such as those not participating in school groups, family workshops, or other docent-led tours. This project will afford children a learning opportunity, through the use of technology, that they might have otherwise missed.
