Kohl Children's Museum

Purpose: Expanding Educational Services The Kohl children's Museum will expand its Early Childhood Connections program (ECC) with a three year Academy that will train a corps of 10 pre-kindergarten through third grade teachers in project-based learning in the classroom to serve as expert resources to their school districts and to train other teachers. ECC reaches out to Chicago's underserved communities with a focus on children at-risk of failing in Chicago's Public Schools. ECC enhances established school curriculum by providing teachers professional development and resources. The program also encourages parental involvement through workshops on conducting projects at home.
