New Market Battlefield Historical Park

Purpose: Expanding Educational Services The New Market Battlefield State Historical Park will enhance interpretive and educational activities at the Park's historic Bushong Farm and will create a Civil War Military Camp environment. At the Bushong Farm the Park will focus on the domestic agricultural heritage of the farm, as well as its use as a military hospital, allowing the Park to place the battle of New Market in a more comprehensive context. The new military encampment will allow visitors to experience the environment where Civil War soldiers spent the vast majority of their time.
