Purpose: Expanding Educational Services The Tinker Swiss Cottage museum's project will expand its educational services by offering a deeper level of interpretation not previously available during a standard tour and therefore better serve its audience. The project will involve updating an existing youth orientation package and create a completely new orientation experience for adult and walk-in visitors using DVD technology. Students from a local high school media program and a local elementary communications magnet school will act as consultants and technicians for the youth portion of the DVD. Students who participate in the project will learn valuable career skills in addition to learning about local history and Victorian culture. The museum will develop content for both the youth and general orientation tracks. Students and teachers will assist in developing content for the youth tracks.
