University of New Mexico Art Museum

Purpose: Expanding Educational Services The University of New Mexico Art Museum will expand art educational services provided by the Museum to Albuquerque schools through a collaboration with a community-based volunteer organization, Art in the School, Inc. This partnership will provide art classes based on current exhibitions and keyed to the state's education standards. In addition to classes, students will visit the Museum and have access to downloadable educational materials and activity guides, and teachers will have the opportunity to attend training institutes. The Museum will reach out to third and fourth grade students in public schools as well as children on Native American reservations and in rural counties.
