Ohio History Connection

Purpose: Expanding Educational Services The Ohio Historical Society (OHS) will use funding to develop and implement two new distance learning programs. The programs will feature recently enhanced historical sites, thereby increasing public access to OHS resources. A portion of the grant will be devoted to a pilot program for distance learning curriculum enhancements, including Web sites and curriculum kits. The products, which will be designed to complement the distance learning programs, also will be able to stand alone, offering new education resources to students in classrooms where distance learning technology is not available. The OHS project is supported by the organization's strategic plan, VISION 2000, and will meet the needs of Ohio teachers who will be looking for educational materials and curricular materials that support the state's new Social Studies Content Standards.
