Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

Purpose: Expanding Educational Services Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens will create a dynamic, interactive Tropical Forest exhibit that will enhance the science and conservation education capabilities of the conservatory. The funding will help Phipps to continue the realization of their mission to inspire stewardship of and to educate about plants. Phipps staff will apply their significant success in the area of rainforest education to the Tropical Forest exhibit. The exhibit will provide direct experience with conservation initiatives and call attention to plant use by indigenous tribes, medicinal research, and the importance of diversity preservation. The exhibit will be heavily reliant on visitor hands-on participation and present primary experiences throughout. Incorporated within the design are changing exhibits to keep the overarching theme alive and vital.
