Shiloh Museum of Ozark History

Purpose: Building Public Access The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History will use reach out to its newest audience and involve them in the museum. The Hispanic population in the museum's community has increased 900% in the past decade, and now constitutes 20% of the population. The Museum will hire a bilingual outreach coordinator to work with individuals and organizations, promoting greater participation in the museum's educational and enrichment activities, many of which are offered at little or no cost to participants. In the first year, this community-based coordinator will develop Spanish language materials for visitors to the museum, while building partnerships within the Hispanic community. The second year's focus will add working with multicultural student groups to develop an oral history project, collecting and preserving for the future the stories of the community's most recent immigrants.
