Building Public Access The Catawba Science center's (CSC) long-range plan charges that one of CSC's permanent exhibit spaces be updated or replaced every three years. This grant will be used for the next such project--the redesign of an existing exhibit into a new Physical Science Gallery (PSG)--and to "renovate" CSC's approach to exhibit development. Specifically, CSC will make exhibits more accessible by employing new technology, developing exhibit interpretation that accommodates the language and cultural needs of under-served minorities, and developing family friendly exhibits and learning resources. Critical elements of this project are to develop audio tours in Spanish and Hmong and for individuals with sight impairments, and update Web site images and online interactive activities.
