Rochester Museum and Science Center

Building Public Access Seeing Rochester converts the Rochester Museum & Science center's (RMSC) most popular photographic collection about Rochester history into a community asset. With this grant, RMSC will collaborate with social studies teachers, university academics, community organizations, and families to digitize a photo collection and make it available on the Internet. The 4,500 photos that will be digitized are a part of RMSC's respected Albert R. Stone collection. They will augment the 9,000 images from the Stone collection that are already available online on the shared Rochester Images Web site. In addition to making this resource available to a broad audience, the project will strengthen learning in schools, homes, and institutions of higher learning.
