Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture

The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture will improve collections stewardship by migrating its collections inventory into a new collections management database and customizing artifact storage. The collection includes paintings, works on paper, photographs, books, and historical documents. For the project, staff will purchase and implement the new collections database system, which will improve access to the collection for exhibition and research purposes. Staff will also purchase custom crates to protect and store objects from the permanent collection and expand the institution’s capacity to loan objects for exhibition to other institutions.
