Lawnside Historical Society, Inc.

The Lawnside Historical Society will digitize its archive of documents and develop collections finding aids for its collections related to African American history, including Underground Railroad, Civil Rights, and Green Book histories. Staff will work with local university students to digitize the archive and utilize a collections management system to catalog materials, prioritizing the digitization of physically unstable documents. As a result of the project, staff will make digitized collections and findings aids accessible to the public online. Primary beneficiaries of the project will be scholars of African American history and genealogical researchers.
