North Carolina Central University (NCCU) will partner with the NCCU Museum and the School of Library and Information Sciences (SLIS) to develop a Master of Library Science degree in Archives Management with a concentration in museology. The 45-hour program of study will include a professional practicum in museum work, professional development opportunities, and independent study work in the NCCU Museum. The project provides four students with tuition support and stipends for the master in library science degree, and travel to attend the annual conference of the Association of African American Museums. The program is designed to prepare professional librarians to document special collections of African American art and artifacts and provide relevant services in museums affiliated with historically black colleges and universities and other libraries.
