Log Number: MH-00-15-0020-15

Great Plains Black Museum, Archives and Interpretive Center will hire an archival professional to develop a collections survey, cataloging plan and preservation guidelines manual that will aid in digitizing the collection for online public access. The museum's archival collection includes over 100,000 primary source materials providing a unique look at African American life and culture in Nebraska and the Great Plains states from 1862 - 1990. This grant will increase the museum's leadership and staff knowledge regarding the condition and historical value of the collection, while providing a new understanding of best practices for the ongoing preservation of the museum's collection.
