Great Blacks in Wax Museum, Inc.

The Great Blacks in Wax Museum will strengthen its school tours program and develop a new interactive curriculum, “Movement: The Essence of the African American Experience,” which will be aligned with the Maryland State Standards of Learning. An experienced director of education will be hired to assist in the development of the curriculum and to work with existing staff to develop the vision for the museum's additional school and public programs while proactively promoting collaboration with area schools. The director of education will oversee the work of two part-time educators who will also be hired with IMLS funds to engage in strategic outreach to local schools and other organizations serving Baltimore's at-risk youth population.
