Thanksgiving Point

Thanksgiving Point will conduct research that seeks to better understand barriers to museum attendance, specifically cost, by using the Museums for All program, which is designed to remove or lower the cost barrier, as a case example. In partnership with the Santa Cruz Children’s Discovery Museum and the Regnier Family Wonderscope Children’s Museum, the team will refine a pilot survey underway at their institutions, develop a parallel survey for general museum visitors, and recruit 30 museums to distribute both surveys. Data will be gathered and analyzed by a team of in-house evaluators and consultants, and will be shared on the Museums for All website. As a result, museums will have access to data that shows the impact of a subsidized admissions program on visitors, and will be better able to understand how to extend their reach community-wide.
