Aquarium of the Pacific

The Aquarium of the Pacific will increase access to digital assets for internal and external users by deploying a digital asset management (DAM) system. The aquarium will contract with a digital asset manager to identify assets and needs before choosing software that will optimize use of its digital assets. An interdepartmental team will provide feedback that informs the selection of the software and its implementation. A contracted metadata specialist will support data entry and organization. Project evaluation will track staff’s perception of these operational changes and new efficiencies. The resulting DAM Library will have comprehensive categories that can be searched quickly; detailed and accurate asset descriptions; and organized workflow accessible to all users. The project will support program production between creative teams who leverage media to support the aquarium’s conservation and education goals to reach new audiences in online spaces.
