Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts

The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts will create a comprehensive program to address diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion (DEAI) within the museum. All museum staff, board, and docents will participate in DEAI trainings and workshops, and three staff will pursue additional trainings and certifications related to diversity and inclusion. The project will involve engaging with consultants to lead trainings and review recruitment and hiring practices. Museum staff will prepare a DEAI training manual, incorporate DEAI policies into institutional planning documents, and host four fellows who are under-represented emerging museum professionals. The project activities will increase staff and leadership’s capacity to develop a uniform approach to DEAI issues, which will result in systemic changes within the organization, ultimately supporting the museum’s relevancy to the community.
