Powell Gardens will implement a professional development program for staff while also enhancing human resources support. Project activities will include hiring a human resources manager to develop and implement personnel policies and programs, including onboarding, orientation, payroll, benefits, morale, performance management review, staff technical skill development, and safety initiatives. A consultant will lead a team and individual professional development process, with a focus on technical and safety trainings as well as leadership training. The project is intended to help staff build a culture of collaboration, accountability, and transparency while also implementing effective business practices, which will increase their capacity to provide visitors with meaningful encounters with plants within the Midwest ecosystem.
