Lightner Museum

The Lightner Museum will improve the efficiency and functionality of its collections workspace for staff as a first step toward gaining greater intellectual and physical control over its collections. Under the guidance of a museum collections consultant, the museum will purchase furnishings for the new workspace including moveable work surfaces, a set of metal flat files for cataloging large format documents, and fire-proof file cabinets to house its original card catalog. A copy stand with a photography background screen and digital camera will also be purchased for the sole purpose of collections documentation and management. The new workspace will support the accessioning and processing of 500 objects and create the foundation for plans to implement a full collections inventory.
