Adkins Arboretum

Adkins Arboretum will upgrade its living collections database to a more user-friendly, field-editable online database, geographic information system (GIS), and web mapping platform for broader public access, better accuracy, and improved in-house monitoring and management. As more plant species are mapped and can be located in the database, the living collections as a whole will benefit from better informed land management strategies that will help preserve the habitats and botanical diversity of the arboretum. Enhancing the database will benefit visitors, volunteers, interns, staff, and researchers in both the depth of information available and the ease of accessing the living collections information.
