Log Number: MA-30-19-0630-19
The Burke Museum will rehouse a portion of its mycology and fish collections to secure their long-term preservation and to improve access for the benefit of researchers, students, government biologists, and citizen scientists. The museum will purchase and install steel cabinets for the mycology collection and compactor shelving for the fish collection's otolith and egg specimens. Student employees and a moving service will assist museum staff in coordinating the move of the specimens to a new, more secure, and environmentally sound location. The project will protect these collections from immediate security, fire, and pest risks while providing the space and infrastructure for longer-term growth.
