Norman Rockwell Museum

Log Number: MA-30-19-0319-19

The Norman Rockwell Museum will process and digitize five archival collections that address how illustration artists and the companies and ad agencies that employed them shaped identity in mid-20th century America. The museum will hire a temporary cataloguer to assist staff in implementing project activities, such as detail-processing of each collection, re-housing materials, digitizing, and writing finding aids. The museum will announce free access to the digital material on its website, post finding aids to online libraries, and publish a web article. The project will reveal the impact of periodicals and illustration art on cultural stereotypes, racial and cultural biases, and perceptions of success and achievement.
