Missouri Department of Natural Resources (Missouri State Museum)

The Missouri State Museum will implement the first phase of a project to initiate the installation of compact shelving units in its Riverside Collections Facility-a retrofitted warehouse with fixed shelving, temporary storage racks and pallets, and lack of a fixed conditioned workspace. Temporary packing and rehousing of the collections will allow museum staff to implement additional conservation assessment recommendations including assessing artifact condition, evaluating conservation priorities, and enclosure of smaller artifacts in archival storage boxes for better protection and easier handling. The project will increase storage capacity, improve collection access and protection, and allow for expansion.
