Log Number: MA-30-15-0226-15

The Mystic Seaport Museum, a leading national center for maritime research and education and the nation's largest maritime museum, will improve the physical state of the 1908 steamboat, Sabino, a National Historic Landmark vessel and the last remaining wooden, coal-fired, operating steamboat in the United States. The 56-foot steamboat was built in Boothbay, Maine, by W. Irving Adams and was first operated on the Damariscotta River but spent most of her career ferrying passengers and cargo between Maine towns and islands. This project will maintain the vessel's historical integrity, and perpetuate knowledge, skills, and professional licensing necessary to operate a unique technological artifact of maritime history and culture.
