Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will digitize the content on 2,500 U-matic videotapes in its Moving Image Collection, whose valuable historical content is at risk of total loss due to format obsolescence. Staff will gather more complete content and production metadata and upload these expanded records onto the museum's new digital asset management system, providing free access to a searchable online portal to any user worldwide. The project will preserve culturally vital moving image content while simultaneously making it accessible for use by scholars, historians, academics, and the general public.
