Lyman Allyn Art Museum

Lyman Allyn Art Museum will inventory and re-catalog its permanent collection of approximately 10,000 art objects. Museum staff and a collections technician will reconcile paper and digital records, capture condition and location information, resolve cataloging discrepancies, re-house objects in archival supports, and take digital reference photos. The project will also generate a list of conservation priorities, alleviate overcrowding by consolidating and improving storage conditions, and identify projects for future focus and grant-funding. A comprehensive collections database will improve the accessibility and usability of the collections by museum staff in developing exhibits, creating public programs, and responding to public requests for information.
