Penobscot Marine Museum

The Penobscot Marine Museum will catalogue, digitize, and rehouse its National Fisherman photography collection and publish the catalog records and images on the museum's established online collections database to make the collection publicly accessible and free to all. Web access to this collection will open a wealth of information relating to the post-World War II changes in the nation's commercial fishing industry from vessel construction and fishing gear to navigation and fish-finding technology to an extensive, varied international audience of scholars, historians, film makers, educators, ecologists, and policy makers.
