Denver Museum of Nature and Science

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science will purchase new storage cabinets to rehouse its Asian collection of 1,130 objects, and enter collections information into its database, making images available for publication through its website. The collection illustrates the main materials, designs, and technologies used by indigenous cultures of China, Taiwan, Japan, South Asia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The museum will also recruit and orient volunteers; construct custom storage boxes and trays; and digitally photograph all objects prior to labeling and rehousing. The project will alleviate overcrowding, increase long-term preservation, improve access for monitoring and research, and create new public outreach opportunities.
