South Dakota State University (South Dakota Art Museum)

The South Dakota Art Museum will engage the Midwest Art Conservation Center to conduct a detailed conservation survey of 1,317 works on paper to safeguard the works and provide improved access for learning, research, and enjoyment. The project will assess the health of the collection; identify and prioritize collection care needs, including priorities for treatment and preventive preservation; develop guidelines for storage, use and handling; strengthen staff expertise in preserving works on paper; and improve the collection’s storage and housing.
