University of North Carolina at Greensboro (Weatherspoon Art Gallery)

The Weatherspoon Art Museum will complete the second phase of renovation for its primary storage vault. To renovate the north half of the vault, the museum will install 16 moving storage screens for framed artwork, 19 metal shelving units for small sculpture, two wall-mounted screens for mixed use, a storage cabinet for oversized two-dimensional artwork, and three mobile work/examination tables. Building on work completed under a prior IMLS grant, the renovation will improve and enhance the accessibility, safety, and preservation of important art; allow for collection growth; and improve staff efficiency.
